David leads creative. Having achieved recognition as one of South Africa’s most successful agency leaders, David left his post as the executive creative director of McCann-Erickson in 2007 and moved to the US.
A short stint in New York was followed by a move to Los Angeles where David joined Dentsu America as Creative Director, heading up the creative department and leading new business pitches for both the LA and NY offices.
Under his guidance, Dentsu won many new accounts including Union Bank, Canon Pixma Printers, Public Storage, The Maids, Hastens Beds and Brandman University, and he grew the business of existing clients, including American Licorice Company and Bandai toys.
An avid motorcyclist, golfer and dad, David’s work has been recognized at Cannes, D&AD, Clios, One Show, New York Festival and The London International Advertising Awards.
Mike leads strategy and ensures DENT exceeds client expectations. His experience covers many categories and brands, from tech to toys and multi-billion dollar brands to start-ups, all with a passion and dedication only found in those who truly love this business. He’s worked at large global agencies, including Ogilvy and FCB, and was EVP General Manager at the largest agency brand in the world, Dentsu, where he built and led a superb West Coast team, growing an enviable client roster and increasing billings every year, leaving at the end of Dentsu America’s best year ever.
Mike is a lifelong surfer/motorcyclist. He loves surf travel, and has explored Central America and Mexico extensively, penning a couple of best-selling surf travel books. (They're pretty bad.) He recently merged those joys, rigging a motorbike for surf travel to explore the length of the Baja peninsula, solo. He’s always looking forward to his next Central America surf trip or motorcycle track day, and invites you to join him on his next Baja motosurf trip. In the meantime, you can find him in his garage working on one of his five Ducatis or his surfmoto Suzuki. (Not. He's at his computer.)
Chihiro is account director extraordinaire.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in advertising, Chihiro quickly traded the blustery Midwest for sunny LA when she joined Dentsu.
A true believer in teamwork, she has been instrumental in building effective advertising and promotional campaigns for a diverse range of clients in various industries - airlines, financial, packaged goods, health, foods, haircare products and more. With an understanding of both American and Japanese cultures, she was the main liaison between Dentsu North America, Dentsu Japan and their clients, facilitating all account management, communication and strategic development.
She also has played a key strategic and management role for many clients, who have used her experience and knowledge to successfully launch a number of brands and products in multicultural market segments.
With her downtime, Chihiro enjoys hula dancing and expanding her Hawaiian music collection. She's been dancing hula over nine years and is excited for her friends and family to see her in action at her recitals every summer.
Steve leads technology. A computer geek to his core, he embraces the challenge of integrating real world business needs with the ever changing technology landscape.
His affinity for technology started when he bought his first computer as a teenager and taught himself how to program his own games. After graduating from UC Irvine with a degree in Information and Computer Science, he worked with a diverse set of companies such as McDonnell Douglas (now a part of Boeing), Allergan (Botox, Lapband), AT&T, UCLA, and Taco Bell with an impressive track record of leading successful IT projects, web and CRM engagements.
Steve loves all forms of speed and indulges his passion with his Ducati Monster and Lotus Elise. (He also has a slow Harley.) Steve enjoys track days and has taught high performance driving at Willow Springs raceway. Also an avid bicyclist, he once rode from San Francisco to LA in a charity ride covering over 540 miles in one week. Recently, Steve picked up photography and became the unofficial photog for his kids’ high school sports teams. Steve lives in San Juan Capistrano with his lovely wife and their two wonderful children, along with their three dogs, three cats and saltwater reef tank.
He's also the only person you know with an automotive lift in their garage. Steve's the real geek deal.
Sophie leads anything she wants to. (But we make her lead engagement, from experiential to social media. She's cool with that because she's quite engaging.)
From successful fashion designer to successful fashion retailer to successful experiential marketer...collaborations architect, events mastermind, art installation designer, copy writer, author, (budding) comedian...Sophie's range of talents and skills is as diverse as her collection of stuffed animals and as colorful as her hair.
A war refugee who escaped genocide (on foot!) and came to the US with nothing but the clothes on her back, Sophie's determination, perseverance, and a bit of quirkiness led her to early success as a young fashion designer in New York City whose designs have sold millions. Returning to LA, Sophie launched the first "kawaii" boutiques in SoCal, and possibly the US. Both endeavors inspired the sincerest form of flattery - copycats. Lots of copycats!
But those are just a couple of examples of the energy and drive this 4'11" giant brings to the party.
Between careers in fashion, retail and marketing, Sophie has collaborated with some of the biggest and hottest brands: Calvin Klein, Disney, Donna Karan, Frederick's of Hollywood, KFC, Macy's, Mattel, McDonald's, Old Navy, Plaza El Segundo, Pocky, Sanrio, Subway, Taco Bell, Target, The Gap, tokidoki, Victoria's Secret, Walmart, and more, along with some of the coolest up-and-coming indie brands.
From humble beginnings and great hardships, Sophie has learned that anything is possible, dreams are achievable, and hair can be any color in the rainbow.
